Give the gift of Hope
Hello, my name is Dave Woodyard, and I am the “team captain” and CEO of Catholic Charities Dallas. What a wonderful time of year it is as we prepare for Christmas and the New Year.
This joyful season also prompts us to think about our many blessings and the gratitude we feel due to the incredible and gracious support we blessed to receive from you, our very generous supporters throughout our nine counites of service. Your gifts of volunteerism, inspiration, vision, encouragement, and generosity are the reasons why CCD can answer the call for all in need.
Our goal is to give the gift of hope by helping address the root causes of poverty hunger and homelessness by serving, educating, and empowering.
Our St. Jude Centers now house over 300 formerly homeless residents and we have helped an additional 250 plus to find housing at other properties. We’ve supplied more than 6.3 million meals through Hunger Services. Over two thousand parents and children improved their literacy skills through our education program. Hundreds have been resettled from Afghanistan, Ukraine, Cube and beyond. Millions in rental and mortgage assistance was provided, Disaster victims were served, and seniors were welcomed back to the Brady Center.
As big as these accomplishments are, they are but a fraction of the impact CCD has been able to provide. Overall, we gave the gift of hope to more than 150,000 North Texans in the last twelve months.
We are proud of our efforts and yet we know there is more to do, more to serve, and more lives to lift and give hope. At CCD, we are prepared to meet the needs of today and expand for tomorrow, yet we cannot do it alone. We need your continued support and for you to invite more to join us in our collective efforts.
We are asking, I am asking, for your generous support of CCD and our many missions of service. With your support and prayers, our work will continue and grow. We will be able to help even more struggling to climb out of poverty, those who are alone, and those trying to overcome barriers to a brighter, more stable future.
