DALLAS – Since it’s inception in 2001 Angels of Charity (AoC) women’s auxiliary group has had one mission, to improve the lives of others in their community, and they are passionate about it! With humble beginnings of just a handful of women and today over 800 members strong, AoC is changing lives in our community each and every day through volunteerism, support, and fundraising. The annual Mass and Luncheon is the group’s largest fundraiser of the year with many social and business leaders in North Texas in attendance. This year is looking to be a record-breaking year for the event and is predicted to raise over $75,000.
“Proceeds from the luncheon benefit CCD and will feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, provide education to under-served children, services to seniors, diapers for struggling families, employment services for the unemployed, and so much more,” says Kathy O’Neal, Chief Development Officer for Catholic Charities Dallas. “The luncheon is just one small aspect of AoC. We have an Angel liaison for each of the programs that CCD offers and they volunteer along side the CCD team on a daily basis.”
Much like the mission of Catholic Charities Dallas (CCD), AoC welcomes a diverse group of women to serve and support the growing needs in our community. All women are welcome to join. Each year, Angel members share their time and talents to serve the programs of CCD. There is no annual membership fee to join, and the participation level is up to the individual.
