Hello, I’m Mike Murray, the Chief Development Officer at Catholic Charities Dallas.
First, I want to thank all of you who gave to our North Texas Giving Day campaign. You helped us raise $230,000 towards our mission to lift-up our brothers and sisters in need.
And of course, every dollar, every volunteer hour, every meeting, every event you attend, does that. Every time you engage with Catholic Charities and our mission in any way, you are helping us change and save lives.
One of our core supporters has participated in our Angels of Charity women’s auxiliary, served on our Board, sponsored events, given generously and volunteers in several of our services. Her impact on our mission can never be measured because it is so vast, consistent, and long-lasting.
Another of our supporters volunteers so much at one of our housing centers, people think she is an employee. She also gives generously, and she prays for our residents – whom she cares for deeply. We would be less effective and less kind in our services if she wasn’t such a dynamic, constant presence at St. Jude’s.
We have another support who raises his hand literally every time we ask for something. “Oh, you need us to chair an event – we are in.” “You need us to get some volunteers to an event – we’ve got it.” “You need a gift to North Texas Giving Day – here you go.”
These people are absolutely inspiring.
We are a large organization; we do a ton and we do it fast. There is no way we can do this without a lot of very broadly and deeply engaged supporters. There are many more people like the ones I described above – maybe you are one of them. We need you.
