Hello, my name is Kelly Noonan, and I’m the Chief Development Officer at Catholic Charities. September is a big month for us!
First of all, it’s disaster preparedness month. Did you know that Catholic Charities Dallas provides one of the only programs in the DFW area that offers both short and long-term case management after a natural or personal disaster?
Our Disaster Relief and Preparedness Services is a holistic program designed to address the immediate and long-term needs of victims of natural disasters. This program empowers survivors of disasters to rebuild their lives and homes through financial and material aid, employment assistance, long-term recovery plan development, and help finding temporary and permanent housing.
As you can imagine, there is always a need to help those who have been impacted by a disaster – after all, you can’t predict if and when a disaster will happen. From fires in Balch Springs to the most recent flooding in Dallas and surrounding areas, Catholic Charities is answering the call to help those in need. So far, dozens and dozens of families have reached out asking for assistance, and we need your help! To support our disaster relief efforts, please use the donation link below.
Additionally, September is a big month for nonprofits in the DFW area. I’m sure many of you are familiar with North Texas Giving Day – an 18-hour day of giving designed for individuals to donate to their favorite charities. I, along with so many of you, am so passionate about Catholic Charities. I’ll be giving with purpose on September 22, and I hope you will, too! Our goal is to raise over $300,000 which will directly support the many missions of Catholic Charities Dallas. If you don’t want to wait until September 22, early giving is now open.
