Like many of you, many of our clients are facing very difficult circumstances with increased risks of exposure to COVID-19. Their access to food, medical resources, and other services continues to be especially challenging.

Your response to this disaster is so very important. When you contribute to the COVID-19 Disaster Response Fund, you will positively impact the lives of fellow North Texans.

Catholic Charities Dallas Response to Covid-19

CCD is dedicated to providing the best environment for all, everyday and we will continue to give the highest respect to those we serve.

In respect to our clients and visitors and especially in light of the declaration of emergency for Dallas County, please note the following programs are immediately suspended until further notice:

  • all group activities at the St. Jude Center and guest admittance to the facility
  • the Brady Senior Prgrm. @ Marillac (the food pantry will remain open for now)
  • all client outreach events
  • all classes including parenting and ESL classes

We are doing all we can to remain open and operational to serve all that we can while adhering to the guidelines and mandates that we are provided by county and local health officials.  Please pray for those effected and for the safety of all.

Please note: programs, appointments at our facilities, and events are subject to change as events continue to unfold. Please check this page frequently for ongoing updates.

Though the foreseeable future of COVID-19 is uncertain, Catholic Charities Dallas is committed to providing services to those most in need around North Texas. We are working with national, state, and local agencies to do our part in reducing the spread of COVID-19 while also serving the most vulnerable in our many communities.

Here are some ways Catholic Charities Dallas is responding:

  • Continuing to Serve:
    • Telephone reception and client triage needs are operational
    • CCD’s mobile and fixed food pantries are open with drive thru distribution service
    • Food is being delivered to the homes of those Brady Senior Program participants without access to transportation
    • Disaster Relief Services is ramping up for the many emergency needs we know are coming
    • Immigration Legal Services, Refugee Services & Financial Stability Career Services have on-line appointments and virtual case management
    • Mary’s Shelter for the children remains 24/7 operational
    • Foster Care and Monitoring is ongoing with many aspects moved to virtual
    • Virtual interviews and counseling continues for Pregnancy and Adoption
  • For Safety’s Sake:
    • We have suspended all group and person to person interaction.A work from home policy has been initiated
    • Our 1421 W. Mockingbird Central Services location will be operating with reduced staff and hours; now 8:00am to 4:30pm
    • In person requests will be transferred to online or phone appointments
    • All events including: ESL classes, auxiliary meetings, citizenship classes, adoption classes, etc. are suspended
    • Visitors are restricted from entering St Jude Center

Volunteer Updates

Volunteering for the following programs and events have been suspended until further notice:

·         Brady Senior Services

·         St. Jude Center

·         Refugee ESL classes

·         Citizenship Workshops

·         Parenting classes

There is still a need for volunteers, specifically in our food program. If you have volunteered with us in the past, or are being referred to help right now by a current CCD staff member, we welcome your help in the areas below. Of course, if you and your family are experiencing undue hardship with this situation, you are invited to receive food items at our drop sites as needed for your family.
