Individual Opportunities

Refugee Services

  • ESL Teacher or Teacher Assistant: Teach English as a second language to adult refugees or provide support to the ESL teachers.
  • Office assistant: Assist the Refugee staff with filing and any data entry

Financial Stability & Career Services

  • Data entry: Help FSCS keep updated and accurate records of client information.
  • Employer Relations Assistant: Provide assistance to the clients by securing relations with employers to provide job opportunities for clients.
  • Financial Education Facilitator: Facilitate financial literacy workshops that cover various topics such as credit, debt, money management, savings and investment options.
  • Funds Denial Specialist: Primary duties include returning calls of people who completed on online funds distribution application during an open period of CCD funds availability yet did not quality.
  • Resume Review: Meet with clients onsite and offer them a complete resume review.

Immigration Legal Services

  • Citizenship workshop assistant: Help screen potential applications, assist individuals in completing the citizenship form, and prepare the packets for mailing.
  • Office assistant: Support the ILS staff by uploading documents to the internal case management system, sorting and sending mails, and assist with the overall maintenance and organization of client files and documents.

Children’s Services

  • Tutor: Become a tutor for the children in the International Foster Care program. Additional clearance requirements must be completed for this volunteer position.

Brady Senior Center

  • Admin Assistance: Work with the program manager and case worker with tasks such as greeting and checking in seniors, organizing and sorting files, helping with reports, and manning the front desk.
  • Bingo Assistant: Every Wednesday call out bingo for the seniors!
  • Food Service Assistant: Help the kitchen staff prepare and pass out food for the seniors.
  • Front Desk Assistant: Man the front desk, help check in the seniors, answer phones, and help answer questions for guests and the seniors.
  • And many more!

Administration & Development

  • Accounting: Offer clerical assistance to our Accounting department by organizing files.
  • Development: Assist our Development department in the following tasks: data-entry, event organizing, and improving donor relations.
  • Front desk: Help be the friendly and smiling face to clients and individuals as they walk through the front doors in our central offices. You will provide assistance checking in clients, answering the phone, and directing calls to the appropriate program.
  • HR: Provide administrative assistance to our HR department by organizing files and assisting with ongoing projects.
  • Information Technology: Provide technological support to our IT department and the rest of the programs within the agency.
  • Volunteer Office: Provide help to the volunteer office by assisting with volunteer application processing and communication.

At Home Volunteer Projects

  • The homebound can also serve the community

All materials for take home projects are to be provided by the volunteer on a donation basis. We will give directions on what the projects should look like and then your creative freedom can take over!

Disaster Preparedness and Relief Services

  • Admin assistance: Help the program manager and case workers with clerical and office tasks such as filing, copying, mailing, and returning voicemails.
  • Customer Service Support: Screen calls and return voicemails of clients in need of disaster services support.

Educational Services (Together We Learn)

  • After School Program Tutor: Help K-8 grade students by tutoring them in reading and math or working on their homework.
  • Educational Assistant: Assist in the preparation of individualized lesson plans focused on developmental and academic needs of students.
  • Office Assistant: Help with welcoming visitors and the families to the center and with general office duties including filing, copying, answering phones, and data entry.

Food Program

  • Administrative assistant: Support the Food Program Manager by completing clerical tasks such as answering emails, organizing volunteer hour reports, returning calls, and assist with projects.
  • Food Pantry (Marillac/Mockingbird): Put together food bags and distribute them during food pantry times at either our Marillac or Mockingbird location.
  • Mobile Food Truck: Distribute food to local neighborhoods in DFW in the mobile food truck! Additional tasks can include parking lot attendants, greeters/line monitors, registration, and food unloader. Various times and locations.

Parenting, Pregnancy, & Adoption

  • Parenting class coordinator: Facilitate the parenting classes and ensure that the weekly classes run smoothly and according to the set schedule.
  • Parenting class assistant: Assist the class coordinator by helping check clients in, manage the material assistance tables, pass out materials, and set-up/tear down before and after each class.

Parish and Community Relations

  • Relations Support: Assist the program manager in building and growing relationships with the community and parishes within the Diocese. Attendance to community events is also required.

St. Jude Center

  • Basic Computer Skills Instructor: Give monthly classes to the seniors regarding the basics of using a computer, accessing the internet, and internet safety.
  • Community Garden Manager: Show the residents what it takes to maintain and upkeep a garden, while also beautifying the St. Jude common area.
  • Front Desk Assistance: Answer incoming calls, greet and check in residents, and provide clerical support to case workers such as filing during down time.
