Coach – Financial Stability & Career Services – Dallas, TX

Catholic Charities Dallas is looking for a Coach to join our team . You will be working on the Financial Stability & Career Services team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Financial Coaching

You will be engaging and encouraging clients to gain an understanding of personal finances as well as providing job and career coaching. The goal of this position is to help families become economically self-sufficient through a coaching, not case management.

Training

You will conduct classes and workshops and provide 1-1 counseling on financial education on topics such as improving or building credit, developing emergency savings, and building assets.

Employment

You will help identify employment needs of clients and guide them on resume building and web-based job search efforts. You will build relationships with employers in order to understand their business and the job requirements of positions they seek to fill and analyze reasons why people are not hired or are fired so that you can fine tune the recruitment and preparation process so clients remain employed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A four-year degree in business, finance, or a related field of study is preferred but may be substituted by significant relevant work experience.
  • Teaching experience is also desired.
  • 2-3 years’ experience in the financial or credit counseling industry, workforce development, and/or proven ability to successfully apply financial/employment coaching skills with the target population preferred.
  • Previous successful experience in job development, recruiting, and job retention services is highly desirable.
  • General knowledge and understanding of the needs of a low-income working population.
  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize and manage tasks and priorities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills verbal and written. Spanish/English language skills required.
  • Strong computer skills including experience with MS Office, using the Internet, and database management.
  • Highly motivated; able to work independently and as part of a team and with energy, optimism and persistence

Catholic Charities Dallas offers a variety of benefits to our staff including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Our employees can participate in a retirement plan with an employer contribution after one year of employment. Paid Time Off (PTO) allows employees the flexibility to take time off as they need and we have a generous holiday schedule. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $15.00 to 22.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
