Rapid Rehousing
Medium-term rental assistance and supportive services program that rapidly re-houses and stabilizes homeless households into permanent housing. Eviction prevention services for those who are going through an eviction process with the landlord.
This housing solution provides help to people at risk of homelessness or who are homeless. This enables these individuals to quickly regain stability in permanent housing.
In 2020, CCD helped 49 families on the brink of eviction, and 22 who were previously chronically homeless and/or in an emergency shelter.
The program is funded through an Emergency Solutions Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and it is administered by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) in the State of Texas.
MDHA refers clients to CCD that need to be placed in housing. Case managers help the clients obtain new apartments, offer rent and limited utility assistance, and support other needs.
