The Missionary Cooperative Plan

The Missionary Cooperative Plan

Thank you to all of our missionaries and parishes participating in the 2016 MCP! The deadline to apply for the 2017 MCP is January 1, 2017.

“Missionary activity renews the Church, revitalizes faith and Christian identity, and offers fresh enthusiasm and new incentive. Faith is strengthened when it is given to others! It is in commitment to the Church’s universal mission that the new evangelization of Christian peoples will find inspiration and support.”

-Pope St. John Paul II, Redemptoris Missio

What is the Missionary Cooperative Plan?

The Missionary Cooperative Plan (MCP) connects the faithful of the Diocese of Dallas in prayer and action with the universal Church. Each year, the Diocese of Dallas receives requests for financial assistance from missionary groups, religious congregations and dioceses from around the world.

The Mission Office reviews these applications, and selects 15-20 qualifying groups to participate in the MCP program. Delegates from the selected organizations are invited to speak at partner parishes in Dallas, giving local parishioners an opportunity to deepen their connection with Catholic communities worldwide, and to strengthen their participation in missionary activity.
